Iron Maiden kicks off their latest world tour in their new Boeing 747-428 (TF-AKK), an aircraft that formerly belonged to Air France, after the band decided that the Boeing 757 they used to use was too small. At the controls of Ed Force One is lead singer Bruce Dickinson, a commercial charter pilot with over 7,000 hours of experience. Airways News has the whole story.

I’d seen there was an announcement of a new Ed Force One on their YouTube channel, but I hadn’t watched it. Crazy that a 757 was getting too small.
